SBI Shinsei Bank in Japan is piloting a program to convert deposit interest into mainstream cryptocurrencies.

PANews reported on June 9th that, according to CoinDesk, Japan's SBI Shinsei Bank will launch a pilot program on June 10th allowing customers to exchange a portion of their deposit interest for BTC, ETH, or XRP. This program uses "interest exchange" as a starting point to introduce crypto assets into traditional deposit products, allowing users to gain cryptocurrency exposure without direct purchase. This move is being implemented on a small scale, and further expansion will depend on customer participation and the regulatory environment.
