PANews reported on October 30 that according to The Block, the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks kicked off the 2024-2025 NBA season on October 22 (Tuesday), pushing the weekly sales of NBA Topshot NFTs to the highest level since before the start of the NBA playoffs last season. As of the week of October 27, the weekly sales of NBA Topshot NFTs had reached 43,600, marking a significant recovery in NFT activities after a period of stagnation. This figure increased by 94% compared to the total volume of the previous week.

NBA Topshot activity was relatively stable in early 2024, with an average of approximately 43,000 NFTs sold per week in the months leading up to the playoffs. However, activity dropped dramatically during and after the playoffs. During this period, sales averaged just 26,000 NFTs per week, reflecting a drop in user interest during the playoffs and offseason.
