Trump floats idea of abolishing federal income tax

PANews reported on October 27 that according to Cointelegraph, in a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Trump said that he seriously considered abolishing the US federal income tax and replacing the source of income with import tariffs. Former US President William McKinley's tariff policy in the 1890s brought great prosperity to the country, and believed that the same policy should be adopted today to fund the government. Critics believe that imposing tariffs on imported products will add a hidden tax in the form of rising commodity prices. However, Trump insists that tariffs can drive demand for the US dollar while protecting domestic workers and making US exports more attractive.
