PANews reported on April 3 that according to Bloomberg, the South African Revenue Service urged those involved in crypto asset transactions to register with the authorities to curb tax evasion. Edward Kieswetter, Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service, said in an interview: "We have invited taxpayers, exchanges and other intermediaries to register, because it is now illegal not to register. Through the registration process, we will have information about these market players and track their business activities." The South African Revenue Service is taking a multi-pronged approach to identify crypto asset traders to initiate law enforcement, but Kieswetter admitted: "This is a systematic project, and comprehensive control will take time."
