PANews reported on November 19 that according to CryptoSlate, U.S. Space Force Major Jason Lowery has submitted an application to serve as a military advisor to the National Security Council (NSC) and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). Lowery announced his application through the X platform, expressing his intention to guide senior defense leaders to understand the impact of PoW on national security. He emphasized the importance of understanding the role of PoW technology in national defense and encouraged everyone to support his position.
Lowery, known for his “Software Wars” paper, advocates for Bitcoin’s PoW mechanism as a transformative tool for national defense and cybersecurity. He argues that PoW technology can be used as a non-kinetic defense system to project power in cyberspace by imposing physical costs on digital actions. He believes that this approach can curb cyber threats and ensure the security of digital infrastructure by converting electrical energy into secure digital assets.
