President Trump signs executive order to establish government efficiency department

PANews reported on January 21 that according to Jinshi, US President Trump signed an executive order to establish a government efficiency department.

According to the executive order , DOGE is structured as follows:

  • Reorganization and renaming of the United States Digital Service: It will now be renamed the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and will be located in the Executive Office of the President.
  • Establishment of a Temporary Organization: A USDS Administrator shall be established in the Executive Office of the President, reporting to the White House Chief of Staff. A temporary organization shall also be established within the USDS, to be known as the “Provisional United States DOGE Service.” The Provisional United States DOGE Service shall be led by the USDS Administrator and dedicated to advancing the President’s 18-month DOGE agenda. The Provisional United States DOGE Service shall terminate on July 4, 2026. Termination of the Provisional United States DOGE Service shall not be construed to imply termination, impairment, or modification of any other authority or provision of this order.
  • DOGE Team: The agency heads, in consultation with the USDS, shall establish within their respective agencies a DOGE Team consisting of at least four employees, which may include special government employees hired or assigned within thirty days of the date of this order. The agency heads shall select the DOGE Team members in consultation with the USDS Administrator. Each DOGE Team generally includes a DOGE Team Leader, an engineer, a human resources specialist, and an attorney. Agency heads shall ensure that the DOGE Team Leader coordinates with the USDS and advises their respective agency heads on the implementation of the President’s DOGE agenda.

In addition, according to the US political news website Politico, American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who was nominated to co-lead the government efficiency department with Musk, has left the department.
