PANews reported on June 7 that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission officially announced that it has noticed an increasing trend in phishing SMS scams impersonating licensed corporations. After the scammers tricked customers into clicking on the hyperlinks contained in the mobile text messages and redirected them to a website similar to the official website of the licensed corporation, they intercepted the customer's user name, login password and authentication information, thereby entering the customer's account with the licensed corporation to conduct unauthorized transactions. Therefore, the Securities and Futures Commission issued guidelines to licensed corporations to prevent unauthorized transactions in customer accounts. If you have disclosed your account login information to an unverified website, or if you find that your account has conducted unauthorized transactions, you should contact your licensed corporation as soon as possible and report the case to the police.
