PANews reported on March 15 that according to Decrypt, the British Court of Appeal rejected a Welsh man's request to dig up a landfill. He believed that his hard drive was discarded in the landfill more than ten years ago, and it contained $676 million worth of Bitcoin. The software engineer mined the lost Bitcoin in 2009, and in 2013, the man's former partner threw away the hard drive, which contained the keys to 8,000 Bitcoins. A long legal battle was subsequently launched to gain access to the landfill, where he believed his tokens might be buried, and he even considered buying the landfill.
