The CLARITY Act amendment has caused industry concerns and may give the SEC greater discretion

PANews reported on June 10 that according to Eleanor Terrett, some industry insiders expressed concerns about the new clauses before the CLARITY Act amendment was reviewed by the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee and Agriculture Committee today. The clause is called the "Gensler Era Clause" and intends to cancel the exemption for existing tokens and instead give the SEC the power to decide on a case-by-case basis whether each token is a security. Critics pointed out that this approach may increase market uncertainty and go against the original intention of the legislation.
