PANews reported on June 12 that according to News On 6, a new law in Oklahoma, USA, aims to prevent scammers from using cryptocurrency ATMs to steal funds, especially from the elderly. The law will take effect in November. The withdrawal limit for first-time users within 72 hours shall not exceed US$2,000. ATMs must be licensed and tracked, and victims of fraud are allowed to seek refunds after reporting within 14 days. Legislators and the Oklahoma chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) said that this law is a step towards protecting local residents from increasingly rampant digital fraud.
