U.S. stocks closed: Nasdaq fell 3.5%, Dow Jones hit the longest single-day losing streak in 50 years

PANews reported on December 19 that the US stock market closed on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average initially closed down 2.58%, setting a record for the longest single-day decline since 1974 (the 10th consecutive trading day of decline); the S&P 500 closed down 2.95%, and the Nasdaq closed down 3.6%. Tesla (TSLA.O) fell 8.28%, and Nvidia (NVDA.O) fell 1.14%. The VIX index rose as much as 78.0% during the day, and was temporarily reported at 28.32 after the US stock market closed.
