Silk Road founder calls for release of Bitcoin.com founder Roger Ver

PANews reported on February 21 that Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht tweeted: "Roger Ver has always been by my side when I was down and needed help, and now he needs our support. No one should spend the rest of his life in jail for paying taxes, let him pay the taxes (if any) and that's it."

According to previous news , Bitcoin.com founder Roger Ver (also known as "Bitcoin Jesus") renounced his U.S. citizenship on February 4, 2014. After moving abroad, U.S. law required Roger Ver to submit a tax return to report the capital gains from the sale of his assets worldwide (including Bitcoin), and he was required to pay taxes on these capital gains. In May last year, Roger Ver was arrested in Spain and charged with suspected mail fraud, tax evasion and filing false tax returns.
