The Bank of Japan raised interest rates by 25 basis points, the largest increase since 2007

PANews reported on January 24 that according to Jinshi, the Bank of Japan raised interest rates by 25 basis points as expected, raising the target interest rate from 0.25% to 0.50%. The rate hike was the largest since 2007, and the interest rate rose to a new high since October 2008. Since the resumption of interest rate hikes in March last year, the Bank of Japan has raised interest rates three times in less than 12 months. In addition, the Bank of Japan stated that after the policy interest rate adjustment, the real interest rate is expected to remain significantly negative, and interest rate hikes will continue as needed.
