South Korean Regulator Orders Sweeping Security Checks After Financial Cyberattacks

South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) has instructed financial institutions to complete urgent internal security reviews following a series of cyberattacks that exposed personal data. FSC Chairman Lee Eog-weon told an emergency meeting of financial executives that preliminary investigations point to weak monitoring on external websites and servers used by loan agents and employees. Regulators have not ruled out the use of artificial intelligence in the attacks and called for accelerating systems designed to "defend against AI with AI." President Lee Jae-myung has been briefed on the breaches and response measures.

Hong Kong Woman Loses HK$21.5 Million in Crypto Investment Scam

A 60-year-old Hong Kong woman fell victim to an elaborate crypto investment fraud after meeting a self-proclaimed "investment expert" through an online platform. The scammer repeatedly demanded margin deposits to prove her account was not being used for money laundering, and between April 14 and September 22 she transferred approximately HK$21.5 million (about $2.75 million) to designated accounts. She reported the incident to police on October 3, and the case is being handled by Sau Mau Ping district crime investigation unit. Hong Kong police reminded the public that obtaining property by deception carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.

Former ROVE Employee Alleges Wage Theft and Locked User Assets

Street said she resigned after repeatedly demanding owed compensation, having personally covered event expenses even during profitable campaigns, and that she was only offered final payment conditional on signing a termination agreement. She also claimed the Rove App has been inaccessible for about a year, leaving user assets locked despite official promises of restoration "next week."

Exchange BTC Inflow-Outflow Ratio Hits 0.97, Signaling Accumulation

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost highlighted that the monthly average exchange BTC inflow-to-outflow ratio has fallen to approximately 0.97 and continues to decline. This suggests outflows are dominating, a positive signal for the market as investors increasingly move purchased BTC into self-custody for long-term holding. The trend points to a market environment favoring accumulation over near-term selling pressure.
