Meta plans to launch an AI assistant to compete with OpenClaw.

PANews reported on May 6th, citing the Financial Times, that Meta Platforms (META.O) is building a highly personalized AI assistant to perform everyday tasks. Meanwhile, the company is facing investor scrutiny due to its soaring AI spending. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the company is building agent-like tools for its more than 3 billion users, including an advanced digital assistant powered by the new Muse Spark AI model. One person familiar with the project stated that the assistant is being internally tested by a group of employees. Another insider said the goal is to develop a product similar to OpenClaw, which allows users to create AI bots called "agents" that autonomously complete tasks on behalf of users. A person familiar with the project said that Meta hopes to allow users to provide highly sensitive information, such as health and financial data, to the assistant when they choose to share it. However, some question whether consumers will be willing to do so.
