Bitcoin prices briefly "flash crashed" to $0.02 on Revolut, suspected to be due to a display or liquidity glitch.

PANews reported on May 8th that, according to CoinDesk , some Revolut users saw the Bitcoin ( BTC ) price briefly and significantly drop below global market levels on Friday. The candlestick chart showed a sudden price plunge followed by a rapid return to normal levels, with the lowest price even being screenshotted as around $ 0.02 . Currently, no similar anomalies have been observed on major exchanges tracked by CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap , where BTC is trading around $ 79,000 during the same period. Revolut has not yet responded to whether any actual trades were executed at the abnormal price. If trades did occur, the platform may need to determine whether the issue stemmed from genuine liquidity matching, price routing problems, or a front-end price display error. Industry insiders say that insufficient liquidity, temporary order cancellations by market makers, or interruptions in price quotes can all lead to extreme "flash crashes" on a single platform.
