Iran claims to have launched drone and missile strikes against a US helicopter base; the US has not yet responded.

PANews reported on March 8th, citing CCTV News, that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement saying that its navy launched a joint operation using drones and ballistic missiles in the early hours of the day to strike a US helicopter base. The statement said the attack precisely targeted helicopter maintenance facilities, helicopter and aircraft fuel tanks, and the command building, causing serious damage. Iran stated that a fierce fire broke out at the base after the attack, with large amounts of black smoke rising, visible from a distance. The US has not yet responded.
