The US invests $2 billion in quantum computing, and the quantum threat is rapidly approaching Bitcoin's encryption system.

PANews reported on June 13 that, according to CoinDesk, the U.S. Department of Commerce recently signed a letter of intent to invest over $2 billion in nine quantum computing companies to build quantum computer infrastructure capable of cracking Bitcoin, Ethereum, and mainstream internet encryption. IBM will receive $1 billion to build a quantum-level wafer fab, GlobalFoundries will receive $375 million, and the remaining funds will be allocated to seven quantum hardware companies.
