PANews reported on February 10 that the DFINITY Foundation announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistani government to establish sovereign cloud infrastructure on the Internet Computer Network, develop generative AI applications, and build a secure national communications system.
The cooperation includes:
- Pakistan Subnet: A sovereign, serverless cloud immune to cyberattacks, created by a network of nodes, with data and computing resources remaining within Pakistan, designed to prepare for the future of AI-built and running software.
- Caffeine AI Licenses: Pakistan will receive 1,500 initial licenses to support governments, academia, the private sector, and startups in developing applications and services on the Pakistan subnet through interaction with AI using natural language, thereby accelerating the digital transformation process.
- National Messenger Service: Develops a national-level communication tool based on sovereign Internet computer infrastructure, employs digital identity verification technology, and supports privacy protection and digital asset transfer.
- DFINITY in Pakistan: DFINITY will establish a branch in Pakistan to support the government, academia, and developers in using AI to develop sovereign applications and promote Internet Computer technology.
This initiative aims to help Pakistan achieve digital sovereignty, promote the development of AI technology, and build infrastructure designed for the AI era, ensuring security, verifiability, and national control.
