PANews reported on February 28th, citing Bloomberg, that Morgan Stanley has filed an application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ( OCC ) to establish a new national trust bank to custody digital assets and provide cryptocurrency trading and staking services to investment clients. The new entity will be headquartered in Purchase , New York, but will operate nationwide. The report states that Morgan Stanley has been continuously strengthening its digital asset portfolio in recent months, including appointing Amy Oldenburg as head of digital asset strategy, applying for ETFs related to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana , and partnering with Zerohash to provide cryptocurrency trading services to E*Trade clients.
Morgan Stanley applies for a national trust bank license in the United States to expand its crypto custody and staking business.
