PANews reported on February 28 that Anthropic stated it has negotiated with the U.S. Department of Defense in good faith and that the two security exceptions have not affected any government missions to date. It will take legal action if the exceptions are deemed a "supply chain risk," arguing that such a designation lacks legal basis and would set a dangerous precedent. The company also stated it has not received direct notification from the White House or the Department of Defense regarding the progress of the negotiations.
Anthropic says it will sue to challenge the Pentagon's "supply chain risk" determination.
