PANews reported on February 28th that, according to CCTV News cited by Jinshi, real-time data from the international tanker flow monitoring system showed that tanker speeds in the waters surrounding the Strait of Hormuz had generally dropped to zero, indicating that shipping in the region had come to a standstill. Meanwhile, several European governments have issued emergency orders to their en route tankers flying their national flags, strictly prohibiting them from passing through the Strait of Hormuz to avoid the security risks posed by the escalating situation.
