Europol and the FBI jointly shut down the online crime forum LeakBase

PANews reported on March 5th, citing Cointelegraph, that a joint operation by the FBI, Europol, and law enforcement agencies from multiple countries successfully shut down the well-known cybercrime forum LeakBase. This forum, a platform for hackers to buy and sell stolen data and cybercrime tools, boasted over 142,000 members and 215,000 posts. Law enforcement conducted simultaneous operations against LeakBase and its users on March 3rd and 4th, shutting down the website, seizing user accounts and information, and carrying out searches and arrests in eight countries including the United States, Australia, and Belgium.

LeakBase's predecessor, Raidforums, was shut down in 2022 after the platform leaked the personal data of approximately 272,000 users of the cryptocurrency wallet company Ledger.
