PANews reported on March 7th, citing CCTV News, that Iranian President Pezechzian stated on his personal social media that Iran has always emphasized maintaining and continuing friendly relations with governments of countries in the region based on good neighborliness and mutual respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity. This does not negate Iran's inherent right to self-defense in the face of military aggression from the United States and Israel. Pezechzian said, "We will resolutely defend our country and resist to the end. Iran's defensive actions are only directed at those sources and facilities that attack Iran, which we consider legitimate targets. Iran has not attacked friendly neighbors. On the contrary, we are targeting US military bases and facilities in the region."
Iranian President: Iran's strikes targeted US military targets, not friendly neighbors.
