Apple may change its strategy and open up Siri to external AI assistants.

PANews reported on March 27th that, according to Cailian Press, tech journalist Mark Gurman wrote on March 26th that Apple plans to open up Siri to external AI assistants, aiming to strengthen the iPhone's position as an AI platform. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Apple is preparing to make this change as part of a comprehensive Siri upgrade in the upcoming iOS 27 operating system update. Through its collaboration with OpenAI, Siri can already connect to ChatGPT, but Apple will now also allow integration with other competing products. It is understood that Apple is developing new tools to enable AI chatbot apps installed through the App Store to integrate with the Siri assistant.
