Brazil has passed a law allowing the use of confiscated cryptocurrencies for public safety.

PANews reported on March 27 that, according to Cointelegraph, the Brazilian legislature has approved Law No. 15.358, allowing public security agencies to use confiscated cryptocurrencies. The law stipulates that assets used in committing crimes can be considered instruments of crime and confiscated. These confiscated assets can be used for police equipment upgrades, training, and special operations. The Brazilian government can also cooperate with foreign agencies in investigations and asset recovery. This law comes as Brazil is reviewing a proposal for a national Bitcoin reserve.
