PeckShield: 20 major crypto hacks and vulnerabilities occurred in March, resulting in approximately $52 million in losses.

PANews reported on April 1st that, according to statistics from on-chain security company PeckShield, 20 major crypto hacks and vulnerabilities occurred in March, resulting in losses of approximately $52 million, a 96% increase from $26.5 million in February. Among these, Resolv Labs suffered an attack that resulted in the loss of over $25 million in USDT-pegged stablecoin USRT. Attackers exploited a vulnerability in its USR minting contract to mint approximately 80 million additional uncollateralized stablecoins, causing the USR price to plummet by about 80% and creating systemic bad debts in DeFi protocols such as Morpho Blue, Euler, and Fluid. Furthermore, user "Sillytuna" claimed that approximately $24 million of his Aave Ethereum USDC (aEthUSDC) was stolen in an offline attack involving kidnapping and threats of violence. The attackers subsequently dispersed and transferred the funds through Bitcoin, Monero, and multiple Layer 2 networks.
