PANews reported on April 1st that Ethereum Foundation researcher Jihoon Song stated at the EthCC conference that FOCIL (Fork-Choice Enforced Inclusion Lists, EIP-7805) proposes to enforce transaction inclusion through a 16-member validator committee, shifting the inclusion power from a few builders to decentralized validators. This aims to mitigate the censorship risk arising from the current situation where over 80% of blocks are produced by a small number of builders. This proposal has been included in future major upgrade plans, with most clients completing prototypes, and the community continuing to optimize proof size and gas efficiency.
Ethereum will incorporate censorship resistance directly into its consensus layer; FOCIL has been included in subsequent major upgrades.
