The Irish government has launched a digital wallet test and integrated age verification functionality.

PANews reported on April 4th, citing Bloomberg, that the Irish government launched a digital wallet test phase on April 4th, which includes age verification features to ensure the online safety of young people. The statement also noted that the digital wallet can also store electronic versions of birth certificates, driver's licenses, and other official documents. All EU member states are required to establish digital wallets by the end of 2026, but how they are used is left to each member state's discretion.
