BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo has donated £4 million to the UK Reform Party.

PANews reported on April 9th that, according to CoinDesk, BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo stated in a commentary to The Daily Telegraph that he has donated £4 million (approximately $5.1 million) to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party since the beginning of the year to support it as a "viable alternative to governance." Delo did not disclose whether the donation was made in fiat currency or cryptocurrency, but publicly supported the UK government's proposed temporary ban on political donations to crypto assets, citing regulatory complexities. Recent guidance from the UK Electoral Commission indicates that crypto donations are currently not prohibited under electoral law, but must be valued in pounds at the time of receipt and the donor's identity must be verified. The UK government has announced an immediate suspension of cryptocurrency donations to political parties as part of its efforts to combat foreign interference.

Meanwhile, Reform UK recently received a £9 million donation from cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne.
