PANews reported on April 14 that, according to ZachXBT, between April 7 and 13, 2026, a fake Ledger Live app listed on the Apple App Store caused more than 50 users to be victimized, involving assets across multiple blockchains including Bitcoin, EVM, Tron, Solana, and Ripple, with total losses amounting to approximately $9.5 million.
On-chain data shows that the stolen funds were dispersed and transferred through more than 150 KuCoin deposit addresses, and then flowed into a centralized coin mixing service called "AudiA6" for laundering. This service is known for its high transaction fees. The largest single loss reached $3.23 million (USDT), and there were several other losses exceeding one million US dollars.
The malicious app has since been removed from the Apple App Store. The incident has also sparked discussion about the platform's responsibility for content moderation, potentially setting the stage for future class-action lawsuits.
