Iranian sources indicate that the Revolutionary Guard intercepted three ships in the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters.

PANews reported on April 22 that, according to Iranian sources, three vessels were intercepted by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters that day. The report indicated that two vessels belonging to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) were intercepted by the IRGC while attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz and were unable to pass; a third vessel belonging to Greece was also intercepted and is currently anchored in Iranian waters. The UK's Office for Maritime Trade Operations issued two consecutive notices that day, stating that it had received two reports of attacks on vessels in the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters.
