CoW DAO has proposed establishing a discretionary compensation program to compensate victims of domain hijacking incidents.

PANews reported on April 24th that, according to the official governance page, the CoW DAO has proposed a discretionary compensation program for victims who suffered financial losses due to malicious transactions signed during the April 14th cow.fi domain hijacking incident. This program would provide a one-time grant from the legal defense reserve to eligible users, offering up to 100% compensation for their losses. Users must submit their applications by May 14th via help@cow.fi. Their wallets must have used CoW Swap for transactions prior to the incident, and they must have signed malicious messages or transactions on phishing websites impersonating CoW Swap. This compensation is voluntary and does not represent an admission of any legal liability by the CoW DAO. The proposal requires a governance vote, scheduled from April 30th to May 7th, with all compensation expected to be distributed by May 31st.
