PANews reported on April 28th that Block, Jack Dorsey's payment company, has launched a new Bitkey hardware wallet with a secure touchscreen. It features a 2-of-3 multi-signature architecture, no mnemonic phrase required, and built-in inheritance planning functionality. Pre-orders are now open. Cash App has introduced a new feature allowing users to automatically convert received peer-to-peer payments into Bitcoin and earn 5% Bitcoin cashback on purchases at Square merchants. Withdrawal limits have been increased to $10,000 per day and $25,000 per week, with purchases over $2,000 exempt from all fees and spreads. Block also released proof-of-reserve, covering Bitcoin holdings in Cash App, Square, and the company's treasury, which users can independently verify through on-chain signatures. Square merchants will support NFC tap payments for Bitcoin, enabling near-instant settlement via the Lightning Network, with processing fees waived until 2026.
