Police forces from China, the United States, and Afghanistan have conducted their first joint operation to combat telecommunications and online fraud.

PANews reported on May 17th, citing Xinhua News Agency, that police forces from China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates recently conducted their first international law enforcement cooperation operation, jointly cracking down on telecommunications and online fraud in Dubai. They successfully dismantled nine fraud dens and arrested 276 suspects. Investigations revealed that the fraud rings established "romantic" relationships with victims through social media platforms, gaining their trust and then inducing them to invest in so-called high-return cryptocurrency projects, ultimately defrauding them.
