PANews reported on May 20th that, according to GoPlus monitoring, the hacker group TeamPCP claims to have obtained the source code from approximately 4,000 private repositories within GitHub and is offering it for sale on underground forums for $50,000, with support for sample verification. If no one buys it, they may release the data publicly for free later.
Previously , GitHub officially confirmed that it was investigating the "unauthorized access to internal repositories" issue, which is suspected to be due to the installation of malicious VS Code/AI Coding plugins on GitHub employees' devices.
