PANews reported on May 20th that, according to CoinDesk, US market maker Jane Street Group is being sued by Terraform Labs' bankruptcy administrators. The lawsuit alleges that Jane Street obtained non-public information about UST's de-pegging through a private Telegram group called "Bryce's Secret," operated by a former Terraform intern during Jane Street's tenure. Jane Street is accused of selling approximately 193 million UST tokens before the collapse, including a one-time sale of 85 million on Curve, subsequently establishing short positions and profiting approximately $134 million. The lawsuit also names Jane Street co-founder Robert Granieri and trader Michael Huang as defendants, accusing them of violating federal securities laws and the Commodity Exchange Act, and seeking to recover related profits to repay Terraform creditors.
Jane Street is accused of using insider information from Terraform to prematurely sell off UST and profit from short selling.
