Mastercard partners with Chainlink to establish a direct channel from fiat currency to cryptocurrency.

PANews reported on May 29th that, according to Finance Feeds, payment giant Mastercard has partnered with decentralized oracle protocol Chainlink to establish a direct fiat-to-crypto gateway for its global users. This partnership allows Mastercard cardholders to bypass centralized exchanges and access digital assets directly through on-chain smart contracts. Shift4 Payments handles the initial card transaction layer, Zero Hash handles compliance tracking, custodial routing, and instant fiat-to-crypto settlement, and the final funds are pushed through Chainlink's infrastructure to a public distributed ledger and connected to the Swapper Finance platform, which leverages XSwap to obtain liquidity from decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap. This integration compresses card processing, regulatory oversight, cross-chain messaging, and AMM Swap into a single, continuous transaction.
