Fidelity lowers the threshold for retail customer participation in SpaceX IPO to $2,000

PANews reported on June 5th that Fidelity will open its SpaceX initial public offering (IPO) to retail brokerage clients with account balances of at least $2,000. Typically, Fidelity requires clients to have account assets of $100,000 to $500,000 to be eligible to participate in an IPO. Fidelity explained that SpaceX's decision to allocate up to 30% of its shares to retail clients significantly lowers the threshold for participation, far exceeding the typical 5% to 10% allocation for retail clients in IPOs. Because retail clients can receive a larger share, Fidelity has substantially reduced the participation threshold.
