PANews reported on June 11th that, according to Zhitong Finance, some developers reported that DeepSeek's open platform has automatically refunded corresponding amounts to API users due to a data error in its cached billing system. According to the notification received by users, from May 13th to June 9th, 2026, DeepSeek's cached billing system experienced some errors, affecting API billing for some users. Therefore, the DeepSeek team automatically refunded the corresponding amount to the affected users' accounts as bonuses, explicitly stating that API billing deductions would be prioritized from the bonus account. When both recharged and bonus balances exist, the system prioritizes deducting from the bonus balance, ensuring that the refunded bonuses can be used first in subsequent calls. Users can log in to the DeepSeek open platform to check the specific details of the refund. The DeepSeek team also apologized to users for this incident in the notification.
