Sentient Foundation commits $42 million to advance open-source AGI development

PANews, June 24 – The Sentient Foundation announced the launch of its "Open Source AGI Grant & Investment Program," committing $42 million to support developers, researchers, and startups in the open-source AGI field. The funding will be deployed through a combination of non-dilutive grants and founder-friendly investments to advance open AI models, infrastructure, tools, and application ecosystems. The Sentient Foundation stated that the initiative aims to prevent a handful of tech giants from monopolizing AI capabilities, promote open and decentralized artificial general intelligence, and enable developers worldwide to share in the value creation of AI.
