PANews reported on February 2nd, citing Forbes, that Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated during a live stream on Binance's social network: "A few weeks ago, I was quite optimistic about the Bitcoin supercycle, but now, given all the fear, uncertainty, and skepticism (FUD) permeating the community, and all the inflammatory sentiment, frankly, my confidence in it has decreased." He mentioned allegations that Binance was behind the October Bitcoin price flash crash, which triggered one of the most severe liquidation cascades in market history.
Zhao Changpeng stated, "The more FUD (fear, uncertainty, and irrationality) you stir up and the more chaotic the community becomes, the greater the negative impact will be. Currently, we are living in a period of very volatile global geopolitical situation. It's difficult to predict what will happen next." However, he believes that a Bitcoin "supercycle" is still possible.
