Trump imposes 10% tariffs on eight European countries over Greenland.

PANews reported on January 18th that, according to Jinshi News, on January 17th local time, US President Trump announced via social media that, due to the Greenland issue (a Danish autonomous territory), all goods exported to the US from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland will be subject to a 10% tariff starting February 1st. By June 1st, the tariff will increase to 25%. This tariff will remain in effect until an agreement is reached on the "comprehensive purchase of Greenland."

The European Union will convene an emergency meeting of ambassadors from member states in Brussels on the 18th to discuss the Greenland issue and US President Trump's new tariff threats.
