据日经亚洲评论，台积电将支付额外奖金，要求建造商加班赶工完成3纳米新建工程的建设。台积电兴建中的南科3纳米厂预定在2022年下半年开始量产，其还计划将5纳米芯片的容量较去年年底提高70％，达到每月12万片晶圆，这些芯片目前用于最新的5G iPhone 12系列和新的Mac核心处理器。
