New Chrome zero-day vulnerability is exploited, Google releases emergency out-of-band patch

PANews reported on June 3 that according to The Hacker News, Google urgently released a security update for the Chrome browser to patch the high-risk zero-day vulnerability CVE-2025-5419 that has been exploited in the wild. The vulnerability exists in the V8 JavaScript engine and was discovered by the Google Threat Analysis Group (TAG). Attackers have exploited the vulnerability through malicious HTML pages. Users are advised to upgrade to Chrome 137.0.7151.68/.69 (for Windows and macOS) and 137.0.7151.68 (for Linux) to prevent potential threats. At the same time, users of Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi are also advised to apply patches in a timely manner when they are available.
