BitsLab launches the first public welfare "Web3 Crowd Testing Program"

BitsLab has launched the first public welfare "Web3 Crowd Testing Program" in collaboration with top white hat hackers and CTF teams, aiming to proactively conduct penetration tests for high-impact Web3 projects to address non-contractual security threats. The initiative focuses on responsible vulnerability discovery, system protection, and providing repair suggestions, with retesting to ensure fixes are effective. This comes as Web3 faces increasing security challenges, highlighted by incidents like Bybit's $1.46 billion loss due to infrastructure vulnerabilities rather than smart contract breaches. The program operates non-profit, prioritizing transparency and shared security insights without exposing vulnerability details. Interested projects can apply via the provided form.

BitsLab launches the first public welfare "Web3 Crowd Testing Program"

Recently, the security of the Web3 ecosystem is facing unprecedented challenges. People often focus on smart contract audits, but ignore another huge risk: infrastructure vulnerabilities at the non-chain and non-contract level. As revealed by Bybit's nearly $1.46 billion loss, the root cause was not the smart contract being hacked, but the developer's infrastructure being hacked. This also warns the entire Web3 field: only by strengthening the penetration test of the non-contract part can a more solid security barrier be truly built.

In order to help more Web3 projects prevent non-contractual security threats, BitsLab has teamed up with the world's top white hat hackers and CTF team members to officially launch the "Web3 Crowd Testing Program", recruiting Web3 projects and proactively conducting penetration tests for high-impact Web3 projects, helping Web3 projects build a more solid security barrier.

We will conduct penetration testing on a non-profit basis, including: responsible vulnerability discovery, commitment not to damage the system, and not to harm user rights; we will provide effective vulnerability repair suggestions, and organize experts to retest the repaired vulnerabilities to ensure that the vulnerabilities are completely repaired; we will disclose vulnerabilities responsibly and share the current potential security risks and threats with all Web3 project parties without disclosing the details of the vulnerabilities.
