PANews reported on November 10th that, according to Cryptopolitan, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared at a blockchain event last week that Iran will be unable to achieve its digital economy goals unless it accepts cryptocurrencies. Ghalibaf stated that developing a national roadmap for cryptocurrency assets is a "top priority." He cited the goal set in Iran's latest National Development Plan—to achieve a 10% share of the digital economy—and pointed out that this goal cannot be achieved without the acceptance of cryptocurrencies. Ghalibaf urged the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the central bank, and other government agencies to work together to ensure the regulated development of this sector.
