PANews reported on March 24 that according to The Block, developer Gunboats ported the Ethereum privacy protocol Tornado Cash to the public testnet of the emerging high-performance blockchain MegaETH, which claims to be able to process 20,000 transactions per second. The new contract is called ETHTornado, and currently has no front-end interface, so the actual usage is low. Gunboats said that the porting was mainly motivated by "half-joking" motives, and that the operation did not require code changes.

Previously, the U.S. Treasury Department had removed Tornado Cash and its related addresses from the OFAC sanctions list .
