PANews reported on January 28 that, according to The Block, the American Innovation Project, a non-profit organization funded by Coinbase and a16z, announced the launch of a research fellow program for college graduates. The program aims to provide lawmakers' offices with industry-specific expertise as Congress works to draft comprehensive cryptocurrency regulations.
The program is open to recent and past graduates in the spring of 2026. Successful candidates will complete a multi-week online course in the spring of 2026 focusing on emerging technologies such as encryption and artificial intelligence. They will then be assigned to the offices of bipartisan members of the House Financial Services Committee and the Agriculture Committee for a year of fieldwork, during which they will receive a stipend. The organization stated that this initiative aims to equip lawmakers with professionals familiar with technologies such as encryption.
