South Korea's central bank governor to meet with CEOs of major local banks to discuss stablecoins

PANews reported on June 11 that according to South Korean media Newsis, South Korea's central bank governor Lee Chang-yong is expected to meet with executives of major commercial banks later this month. The meeting is scheduled to be held in Seoul on June 23, at a time when the political community is increasingly interested in promoting the development of stablecoins backed by the Korean won. Lee Chang-yong is expected to attend the banking industry's routine board meeting that day, followed by dinner with CEOs of major banks, and may discuss stablecoins.
